Cloud Computing, also known as Software as a Service (SaaS) is a term used to describe THE growing global trend whereby companies and individuals are changing the way they use the internet for their business and personal lives.

Cloud Computing simply refers to the ability for someone to use a web browser to access an application online rather than have to install it as a software program onto their computer. Some of the key benefits of this approach are that applications hosted “in the cloud” are often cheaper and you always have access to the latest version which is constantly being improved by the owner of the software.

Whilst its a pretty new buzz term in business circles people have been increasingly using Cloud Computing applications for a surprisingly long time with familiar examples being online banking, webmail products like Hotmail or Gmail and photo sharing sites like Flickr.
